As Americans prepare to choose a president in November, a group of Christians is organizing prayer groups across the nation. Our blog today highlights the “50 Day Fight” organized by, among others, Daniel Bernard, President of Somebody Cares Tampa Bay.
The 50 Day Fight is an intensive period of prayer for 50 days leading up to November 3rd, Election Day. The group will have daily prayer and conference calls. They’re working to open churches every day specifically to pray for the nation. Furthermore, the group is organizing pastors in this collective prayer effort and encouraging them to work with other ministries in both public spaces as well as church buildings. For example, Rock Church in San Diego, CA just organized over 132 churches to pray together in public areas.
As the group works to inspire prayer nationwide, it hopes the prayer movement will go viral. We encourage Faith and Freedom Coalition supporters to engage in the “50 Day Fight” movement. Please consider bringing information about the movement to your pastor, home bible study, and dining room table conversations.
In addition, as we enter the final phase of this critical election, we encourage you to vote. As Christians living in a representative democracy, casting your ballot is a solemn responsibility. You can magnify your power to influence the course of history by talking with other believers and encouraging them to vote. But above all, pray for America!
